Ben's Broth

Daves dad, Ben stays with us every year for 5 weeks from Israel. Ben is one of the healthiest looking and feeling 77 year old you’ll meet.
His nutrition regime is pretty strict and we jump on board while he’s here for most of the time (except for events and a few gins here and there). Although Ben doesn’t use bone broth at home, I use it here for the healing and nourishing aspects. There are is no salt, pepper or spices added, the point is to make it clean and relearn the flavours of vegetables and whole grains in there simplicity. This is the broth we’ve been having every night...

Ingredients:
🍲soaked lentils, white beans, green lentils, brown lentils, chickpeas (1 cup total for everything)
🍲diced celery, potatoes, pumpkin, beetroot, broccoli, carrot (3 cups total) you can choose other veggies
🍲buckwheat kernels 3 tablespoons

🍲Optional: Bone broth - either concentrated powder or homemade. Just make sure its from sustainable, well looked after grass fed animals.

🍲Filtered water

METHOD:

🍜 boil everything together and simmer for 30 minutes.

At first I was like OMG this has no flavour but I resisted the urge to add anything to it. Now I crave the blandness and can taste every single ingredient for what it is.  Dave and I continue to have this a few nights a week as a reset.

Enjoy x
