Beetroot Lamb Burgers

These beetroot lamb burgers are rich in flavour and health benefits. Beetroot is high in antioxidants, helps relieves inflammation, promotes heart health, aids in detoxification, boosts brain function, supports digestive health and can increase weight loss.

Grassfed organic lamb is an excellent source of protein and vital nutrients like iron, zinc, selenium and B12. I believe in eating predominantly plant based with some high quality protein regularly for optimal health.

My dad was a butcher and he was always fancyfying meat and adding veggies and herbs to his dishes. This is one of his recipes with a few extras. Oh and the kids LOVE them.

Ingredients:

  • 500g organic, grass-fed lamb (or beef)

  • 2 medium beetroots, peeled

  • 1/2 and onion

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of organic bone broth (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • black pepper

  • 1-2 teaspoons of spices - I mix it up every time. EG: garam masala, cumin , paprika or coriander

METHOD:

  1. In a food proccessor chop the beetroot, garlic and onion. Not too fine or they will fall apart. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

  2. Add all other ingredients and mix well.

  3. Roll in to balls and flatten on either a BBQ or frying pan and cook both sides.

This makes about 12 burgers. I suggest having 2 with a salad or veggie dish.

Enjoy x
